Welcome Welcome to The Severn Veterinary Centre
Welcome to Severn Veterinary Centre
(incorporating Severn Veterinary Referrals)
The Practice
Severn Veterinary Centre is a dedicated small animal practice currently run from two sites, the Berkeley House practice being East of the River Severn and the Tybridge House practice being West of the river. The practices are supported by 6 Veterinary Surgeons, and 14 multi-trained Veterinary Nurses. We aim to provide a high quality caring and professional service, with friendly staff, in a welcoming and relaxed environment.
Berkeley House
We have recently relocated to new premises in Warndon villages. This practice is where the orthopaedic referral service is based and also includes a first opinion veterinary service. This practice also offers full Hydrotherapy and Physiotherapy services for dogs, pre and post op recovery, weight loss, chronic conditions and fitness. Please ask our head nurse Natasha Cooper for more information on these services.
Tybridge House
This practice is run from a beautiful grade II listed Georgian House in the centre of Worcester, and offers first opinion Veterinary services, Acupuncture and Ophthalmic Referral services.
Both practices are dedicated small animal practices, ie, dogs, cats, rabbits, and other domestic pets. Both are fully equipped with modern surgical, anaesthetic, radiography, laboratory and hospitalisation facilities to deal with all aspects of modern veterinary practice. We are accredited under Tier 2 of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons Practice Standards Scheme. This is a voluntary scheme, and is aimed at practices wishing to attain very high standards.
General facilities in both practices include isoflurane anaesthesia, patient monitoring equipment, surgical diathermy, suction apparatus. Radiography at the Lyppard Grange practice is a new static high frequency generator with a tilting table and head, and digital processing system. There is also automatic processing in both practices. We proudly have a mobile ultrasound machine, which we can use in both practices. Blood analysing machines in both practices, and enables the monitoring of Haematology, Biochemistry, T4 and electrolytes immediately.
In addition, we also provide an Orthopaedic and Spinal Referral Service (see below). This service is available to other veterinary practices in the region, (although our furthest referrals to date were from Central London, and Weymouth). The level of expertise and facilities is available to all our clients.
We are an approved Veterinary Nurse Training Centre, with some of our trainees undertaking day release courses at Pershore College of Agriculture, Worcs, and some of them undertaking the degree course at Hartpury, Glos, in association with The University of West England, Bristol.
Special Interests
Jock Queen writes regular articles on Orthopaedics for the UK Vet Magazine and Caroline regularly broadcasts with Classic Gold Radio, BBC Hereford and Worcester and occasionally with Wyvern FM.
In addition to our extensive referral service we are also able to offer Acupuncture.
Radiography Reporting
Vets may write and send radiographs, or send and telephone. The fee for radiography reporting is waived if the case is referred, and we do not currently charge for reports given over the telephone.
Information for pet owners
If you wish your pet to be seen by us as a referral, please ask your own veterinary surgeon to refer your pet. We can give general advice about conditions and disease over the telephone, but it is impossible (and unethical) for us to comment on a specific case that we have not seen.
